The ISIS Foundation's mission is to make a positive difference to the lives of children in the developing world.

We are guided by a set of operating principles -

  • We want to save the world one child at a time!

  • We hope to support as many children in need as we can, in a way that helps them to lead laughter-filled, safe and productive lives.

  • We develop a comprehensive understanding of the communities with whom we work, through both formal research and community consultation.
  • Projects must be in response to local need, and not be donor driven.

  • Communities must participate in, contribute to, and in the longer term sustain, the benefits of projects, as far as they are able to do so.

  • Our projects are long-term and involve a commitment to the people in particular regions, not just short-term project outcomes.

  • We work in partnership with non-government organisations (NGOs), utilising and training local staff in preference to expatriate staff wherever possible.

  • Our work takes into consideration the expertise of other NGOs and international NGOs (INGOs) in the region, trying not to duplicate their efforts, and we always seek to involve local committees and local government structures wherever possible.

  • We encourage accountability, financial control, effective reporting, and quality measurement of outcomes in relation to each project that we undertake.

  • We believe in strong links between business and non-profit, for the benefit of both.
