Hands in Outreach

Hands in Outreach (HIO) is a Kathmandu-based educational service provider. Just two dedicated full-time employees work in the busy capital city, assisting children and their families to access quality primary and secondary education and thus break the cycle of poverty. They are managed by a voluntary, USA-based Board, and have an impressive two-decade history of achievement with children living in extreme poverty.

HIO supports kids and families who they find living in conditions that are even extreme for Nepal. Over 100 children, mostly girls, are supported by sponsors around the globe each year, so that the kids have access to quality education. To HIO’s credit, their staff were former students who were able to finish their education as a result of the constant support from HIO.

The founders of ISIS have had a long association with HIO, having personally supported three young children since 1989. These two are now beautiful, confident young women with a solid education.

HIO students are well connected with The ISIS Children’s Foundation. Many of the HIO children at school volunteer as tutors with the trafficked children in ISIS Homes, and ISIS has hired a number of HIO graduates to work in their homes.
