You can help
perpetuate the work of The ISIS Foundation by remembering the Foundation in
your will.
We welcome the gift of residue of an estate, outright/pecuniary bequests, or
bequests of property. We would ask that where possible, due to the changing
needs of the Foundation, its partner organisations, and the people we serve
on the ground, that bequests be made for general use
rather than for specified projects.
There may be significant tax benefits associated with including The ISIS
Foundation in your will, and these will vary depending upon the country in
which you are a resident for taxation purposes.
Although you will need to consult with your own tax attorney/solicitor before
finalising wording for your bequest, to ensure that the wording below is
appropriate at the time of making the bequest, the following can be used as a
broad guideline for UK and USA donors:
|
|
UK Wording
"I give (proportion of the reside of your
estate, or specified sum of money, or particular item etc.) absolutely to The
ISIS Foundation (UK), Charity Number 109 8152."
USA Wording
The ISIS Foundation in Bermuda is able to accept tax deductible donations
from US citizens by virtue of our involvement with the International
Charitable Fund of Bermuda (ICFB). ICFB's role is to source and encourage US
donations to Bermudian charities. As such, bequests to The ISIS Foundation
must be sent to ICFB with a recommendation that they be directed to our
charity where possible.

For a residuary bequest:
" All (or __ %) of the rest, residue and
remainder of my estate which I may own or be entitled to at the time of my
death, I give, devise and bequeath to the International Charitable Fund of
Bermuda. Subject to their usual procedures for review and evaluation of
gifts, I would like these funds to be directed towards a charity which does
work in the area of health care and education for children in the developing
world, such as The ISIS Foundation."
For an outright bequest:
" I give and bequeath to the International Charitable Fund of Bermuda
the sum of ... dollars exclusively for its charitable purposes. Subject to
their usual procedures for review and evaluation of gifts, I would like these
funds to be directed towards a charity which does work in the area of health
care and education for children in the developing world, such as The ISIS
Foundation."
For a bequest of property:
"I hereby give my (full description of item and location) to the International
Charitable Fund of Bermuda. Subject to their usual procedures for review and
evaluation of gifts, I would like this property to be directed towards a
charity which does work in the area of health care and education for children
in the developing world, such as The ISIS Foundation. If, after diligent
evaluation of the property, it appears to the recipient of this property to
be impractical to maintain the property for charitable purposes, I authorize
the sale or disposition of the property at their sole discretion."
